U Village housing boom (Seattle Times): The Times asks: "Will it be a real Seattle neighborhood?" Signs are that the area surrounding the popular outdoor mall is already a new kind of neighborhood - not a traditional Seattle neighborhood made of single-family craftsman homes built in the early 1900's - but rather a more dense, multifamily apartment neighborhood with UW students, seniors, and young professionals, all within a short walk of shops, restaurants, and major employers like UW and Children's Hospital.
Wallace to build 950 units in Downtown Bellevue (PSBJ): plans call for a 28-story tower and three mid-rise buildings, including 68,800 square feet of retail and ~1,250 underground parking stalls, wrapping two recently-completed Amazon office buildings.
Lowe presents plans for 400 units near Mt. Baker station (DJC): the plan includes ~15,000 square feet of retail/commercial space along MLK, and ~200 underground parking stalls.
Sea-Tac Airport to expand concourse (New Atlas): The C Concourse Expansion will add 145,530 sq ft of dining and retail space, a prayer and meditation area, as well as a mezzanine level and multiple seating areas, plus a new airline lounge. It will feature a sculpted Douglas fir ceiling.
