Affordable U District Tower Will Be Seattle’s Tallest Mass Timber Building "In April, the Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) announced plans – in partnership with Sound Transit and the Seattle Office of Housing – to build a 12-story mass timber affordable housing complex near U District Station. Though it’s still in the early design stages, the early plan envisions 160 homes serving families and individuals earning between 30% and 80% of area median income (AMI).
