Last month, the Seattle Office of Housing announced $13.65 million in funding for five developments that will create homes for families earning up to 80 percent of the area median income level.

“Owning a home is one of the best ways for families to build wealth and put down roots in their community,” said Mayor Katie Wilson in a news release. “Too many people who work and raise their families here have been priced out. These awards help change that. They open the door to homeownership for 77 more households and make sure these homes stay affordable for the next generation of Seattle families.”

The money, made available through the Office of Housing's 20256 Homeownership NOFA, will go toward projects in Lake City, Central Seattle, Rainier View, Highland Park, and Delridge. The projects include:

  • Habitat for Humanity & CAYA (Central Area): Developing 32 condominium homes (7 studios, 6 one-bedrooms, 19 two-bedrooms) and a ground-floor community center at 115 and 119 23rd Ave.
  • Homestead Community Land Trust (Rainier View): Developing four 3-bedroom townhomes at 11174 Beacon Ave S.
  • Habitat for Humanity (Highland Park): Developing six 4-bedroom townhomes at 8844 10th Ave SW.
  • Habitat for Humanity (Delridge): Developing 29 condominium homes (Puget Park Flats) with 17 two-bedroom and 12 three-bedroom layouts at 5005 Delridge Way SW.
  • Habitat for Humanity (Lake City): Developing six 4-bedroom townhomes at 13515 27th Ave NE.
