Texas-based developer JPI is partnering with Stream Real Estate on plans for a new multifamily residential building in Uptown.
The project, which would rise at 400 4th Ave. W, calls for the construction of a 10-story, 189-unit apartment building. Roughly one quarter of units would include either two or three bedrooms, which is intended to distinguish the project from competing developments consisting predominantly of smaller studio and one-bedroom homes.
“JPI and our partners are thrilled to be bringing new housing, including family-sized units, to one of Seattle’s most vibrant neighborhoods,” said JPI chief investment and financial officer Mollie Fadule in a news release. “This project will create generous living spaces with meaningful outdoor amenities in an urban location with fantastic proximity to civic attractions, entertainment, arts, retail, and employment. We’re excited to see this project continue to take shape and to further our commitment to the region.”
The project is located on a sloping site, and will take advantage of that by stepping the building into the hillside to provide units with views of Puget sound, Downtown Seattle, and the Space Needle.
Construction is expected to commence in Spring 2027.
This is the second joint venture in Seattle between JPI and Stream Real Estate.
