In July, DEP Homes and Vandervoort Architects filed a land use application and construction permit application for 19 townhomes in Eastlake. The Early Design Guidance package shows units averaging 1305 square feet, with roof decks, above a shared 22-stall parking garage.
The site is 17,112 square feet, with a 1962 office building on it that was designed by renown Northwest Modern architect Paul Hayden Kirk. The building was until recently occupied by civil engineering and survey firm Bush, Road & Hitchings, which has moved to new offices in Bellevue. DEP purchased the site in March 2021 for $5.6M. The current plan retains the existing office building sections fronting on Minor Avenue.
Adjacent to the south of the site is the building that housed Paul Hayden Kirk's offices, which he also designed, and where Vandervoort currently has its office.
