Construction is commencing for Elephant Car Wash at Seventh Avenue and Denny Way, reports the Puget Sound Business Journal.
The project from Holland Partner Group and North American Sekisui House (or NASH Communities), will stand 44 stories in height and feature 455 apartments on a property at 616 Battery Street.
Weber Thompson is reportedly designing the tower, which was issued a construction permit in February.
According to plans, the completed building will stand approximately 440 feet in height and include 2,550 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and parking for 262 vehicles.
"616 Battery is located at a major junction in Seattle’s grids, where Denny, Dexter, 7th and Borealis Avenue, all intersect," states a narrative. "One-way streets surround the site, and 7th has recently been dead-ended creating an unreachable one-way frontage. This creates an opportunity for a unique space at the end of the street that can improve the pedestrian experience and solve the awkward situation that currently exists."
Holland Partner Group has also recently announced the sale of a nearby tower - the 44-story Ivey on Boren. Outside of Seattle, the developer recently completed work on a 38-story development in Los Angeles.
