Seattle City Council extends COVID rent payment plan requirement beyond civil emergency (Seattle Times): Seattle renters will be entitled to “reasonable” repayment plans for unpaid rent built up during the pandemic for six months after the city’s civil emergency order expires.

Construction starts on ULab building at University Prep (DJC): Designed by Mithun, the 39,000-square-foot facility supports the school's goal to increase Upper School enrollment from 340 to 450 students and expand opportunities for course offerings, clubs and athletics.  Construction is slated to be complete in time for fall 2023 classes. The general contractor is Skanska.

Microsoft's next campus addition moving swiftly through design review (DJC): LMN Architects is proposing three five-story office buildings, the first two of which are permitted under a prior city master plan. All three will total ~ 800,000 square feet.  The office trio will be accompanied by an amenity building/food hall, with over 56,000 square feet; a roughly 15,000-square-foot thermal energy center to provide power; and a four-level underground parking garage. A central plaza will connect them all.

Early details of Alexandria's 8-acre Bellevue science and tech center emerge (PSBJ): The four-phase, 8.3-acre development includes three life sciences lab and office buildings totaling nearly 700,000 square feet, and two multifamily buildings with a total of 432 residences.  The company is partnering with Clarion Partners/Gables Residential and Pine Forest Properties on the 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-use project called Alexandria Center for Science and Technology – Bellevue, near the Spring District.  Plans also call for around 16,000 square feet of "innovative and local retail with an emphasis on food and beverage options."

Skanksa shares early plan for newly acquired site in downtown Bellevue (PSBJ):  Plans are to develop a boutique building with up to 150,000 square feet of commercial office space for a site it acquired Monday.  It's the latest project for the block where Skanska is building a 25-story, 541,000-square-foot office tower, at NE 8th Street and 108th Avenue NE.
