Seattle's Office of Housing has announced a new funding round that will provide at least $110 million for the construction, preservation, and acquisition of income-restricted rental housing.
The 2026 Rental Housing Production Notice of Funding Availability, released on July 20, invites applicants to compete for capital funding supporting projects throughout Seattle. According to the Office of Housing, proposals may include new affordable housing construction, rehabilitation of existing buildings, or acquisitions that preserve affordability over the long term.
The funding represents Seattle's latest effort to address its ongoing housing shortage, and follows a series of increasingly large affordable housing investments. Earlier this year, the city awarded $155 million through its 2025 NOFA, supporting more than 2,100 affordable homes across 20 developments through a combination of new construction, preservation, and stabilization projects.
The Office of Housing traditionally issues an annual NOFA using a mix of funding sources led by the Seattle Housing Levy, while also coordinating with regional and state housing finance programs. Projects are evaluated based on affordability, readiness, financing, and alignment with the city's housing priorities.
Applications for the 2026 funding round are now being accepted. Developers can review eligibility requirements, application materials, and the program schedule through the Seattle Office of Housing's funding opportunities portal.
